Red raspberry leaf tea October 17, 2008

I’ve decided this stuff is amazing!  The midwife suggested I start drinking it last week (Wednesday) saying it would help with the labor pain, and the calcium in the tea would also help the baby.  So I drank gallons of the stuff.  Wednesday night I had probably 2-3 cups, double-bagged.  Thursday I managed to find the loose leaf (MUCH cheaper) and I drank 1/2 gallon.  Friday to Sunday I drank a gallon each day.  Went into labor late Sunday night and delivered on Monday morning.  So the tea didn’t actually do anything for the pain . . .but . . . it sure made a HUGE difference with the bleeding.  Basically, there was none after the baby and only about 1/2 cup after the placenta was delivered.  Who ever heard of delivering a baby with almost no blood?!?!?!?  I have to attribute it to the red raspberry leaf tea.

So, mammas, if you are expecting, drink up!  It apparently can also help lessen the bleeding during the monthly cycle.  Who knew?
