The never-ending list April 13, 2009

Ever since I started designing my own diaper bags, it seems that my list of sewing projects never gets any shorter. I’ve finished TONS of projects, but I keep coming up with new things to make. It’s totally nuts, and now that I have very little free time, the projects are sort of languishing. Plus, I’ve developed this bad habit of having several projects going at the same time, so my sewing area is pretty disastrous. It gets even worse when I try to sew while DS is playing there . . .then it looks like a tornado blew through! I keep thinking if I only had like a day or two of uninterrupted time, I could make a real dent in my project list. But then I realize that I would only come up with more things to make! Apparently, I really enjoy sewing and I enjoy desiging my own stuff even more! I guess the only things I’ve designed from scratch are my diaper bags, my purse and the wool shorties/longies. The rest of the stuff (dipes, wool and fleece covers/soakers, undies, over-door shoe holder, mei tais) I’ve used patterns from online and made modifications to suit me, so it’s not really my own design.
Anyway, my list never seems to get smaller, and I’m sure it’s because I’ve figured out that I can make many of the things that I see. The other day, DH and I were talking about needing to get slippers for DS and I said, “hey, I could just make him some!” He just looked at me and didn’t say anything, so I said, “like I need any more projects! Ha!” He just smiled . . .wise man=)
So I guess I’m okay with the never-ending list, it always gives me something to do=)
