Reusable sandwhich bags August 9, 2009

Several weeks ago, I was at a playgroup and noticed that one of the moms had some cool reusable snack and sandwhich bags. So I took a gander at her bags and decided to make some of my own. The snack bags are cotton broadcloth on the outside and nylon on the inside. I found that the nylon was not waterproof, so I made some bags with cotton broadcloth on the outside and PUL (polyurethane laminte) on the inside.
I love how these bags work! DS loves to eat his snacks otu of them and I’m pretty sure he thinks the velcro closures are cool. I’ll definitely be making more of these!! The sandwhich bags are a differernt story. I think I need to work on the design a bit more because it doesn’t stay closed well.
This is how it should look when folded up.
And then when you open it up you have a little placemat. Clever, right? Too bad I can’t get it to work!
In any case, I’m mostly happy with reusable bags . .. . now I can stop using all of those plastic bags . . YEAH!
Wow! those bags are cool!
I am sure you will find out the way to make the sandwich bags to work.
Love you lots!
