Fixing up the sewing bench July 1, 2010

I’m betting that you probably don’t remember the second 201-2 that I got several weeks ago.  I know, there have been so many machines it’s hard to keep up=)  Anyway, it came in a nice desk with a little stool/bench.  Well, bench was, UGLY and quite uncomfortable.  I wanted DS to be able to use it with his sewing machine, but it was just awful!  So I decided to redo it, and it turned out SOOOOO much better.

And the requisite before and after pics.

Who knows what material this was, but it was quite dirty and nasty plasticy.  And check out the awful padding . . . . looks like it has some asbestos in it, right?

I used some foam mattress padding to repad it, then recovered everything with a flannel print that DS had picked out.  Sooo much better, right?
