Remember Dave Brubeck and the song Take 5?

Pretty groovy song.  I think I was officially introduced to it in college while we were studying for a Music History test.  You are right in thinking that Take 5 has nothing to do with Music History . . .. we were just bored and needed a little diversion.  I remember thinking that it was pretty neato that the song was in 5/4, not at all a common time signature.

Anyway, I’ve totally digressed before even having gotten started!  This post has nothing to do with music, just the title made me think of that song.  (The perils of being a musician, EVERYTHING in life makes you think of a song!)

I’ve been working on getting my sewing area unpacked, a behemoth of a task.  The first step was to get the major pieces of furniture arranged.  This room is MUCH bigger than the previous area.

So you’d think I’d have no problem arranging.  You’d be quite wrong!  I had my little diagram all worked out, but when I actually arranged everything in that way, it didn’t quite work out.  So I arranged, and rearranged, and rearranged.  I kept coming up with a great plan in my head (and on the diagram), but each time, said plan proved to be flawed in one way or another.  I seriously think it took me about 10 tries to finally find a configuration that will work.  Once I got that sorted out, I could get down to the next task or unpacking “the fleet” and then getting the rest of the stuff (fabric, notions, etc.) unpacked and organized.  I can’t believe it took me 10 tries!  But I’m pretty pleased with how it looks.  It remains to be seen if it’s actually functional.  If it’s not, you’ll be sure the hear about it.  Oh, and the room isn’t done yet, so no pics as it’s still a disaster!
