Kicked into high gear

For the past few weeks, I’ve been telling myself that I needed to get #3’s room ready . . . but other pressing issues always came up.  So I didn’t really start doing much until yesterday, when I washed the clothes and dipes, and that’s as far as I got.  Thigs got kicked into high gear today, thanks to my MW appointment.  So I’m 35-36 weeks (depending on whose dates you use), and the little human is VERY low!  At my appointment two weeks ago I was measuring 35, which was 1cm ahead.  Today, still measuring 35!  That, coupled with lots of pelvic pressure, on again off again back pain and mega pooping (TMI, I know!), made the assistant say.  “So you’ve had your home visit, right?”  “No, it’s next week.”  At which point, she looks at me with a raised eyebrow as if to say “uh-oh”.  Then I told her how the MW had missed RNR’s delivery and how it was a precipitous labor and she says “where do you live?  Oh, so not close enough that we could just run over there today, you know, just in case.”

Ha!  So now the baby’s clothes is all folded, bed made, I’m about to get the dipes all folded up and move the rocking chair back in there.  We also need to buy a few things, baby lotion, soap, ingredients to make wipes solution, as well as get the couch ready for delivery.  Oh yeah, and we still haven’t taken the pregnancy pics.

On the one hand, we are ready to meet #3.  On the other hand, I want to make sure it’s well cooked and ready to come . . I don’t want to selfishly want it here NOW just because I’m ready, ya know?  I guess the best way to ensure that it won’t come, oh, today, is to have everything ready, which means, I’d better get off of the computer and get crackin!
